M2pdf converts your email on your own computer. Nothing about the message, its body, subject, recipients or attachments, is uploaded to us or to anyone else. This page sets out what does leave your device, what never does, and how local PDF conversion works inside your browser

What Leaves Your Device

• Your Google account email address, so we can check which plan you are on
• A count of conversions you have run. We record how many, never which ones
• Payment details, if you buy a licence. We never see or store your card details
• Survey answers, if you choose to submit the form

• Personal information beyond what is listed above

How a Conversion Works

Four steps, all of them inside Chrome on your computer:

• M2pdf asks Gmail for the message, using the session you are already logged into. The request goes from your machine to Google directly and does not pass through us
• The message is laid out for print in a hidden tab. Scripts in the email are stripped before anything is rendered
• Chrome's own print engine makes the PDF, which is what gives you real selectable, searchable text rather than a flat image
• Attachments are added and the file is saved to your Downloads folder. Nothing is staged on a server along the way

The "Debugging" Banner During Export

Chrome displays a bar reading "M2pdf started debugging this browser" while a PDF is being generated. This is how Chrome labels access to its debugger. It is what lets M2pdf export a hundred emails automatically, without asking you to click Save a hundred times.

Which Websites M2pdf Can Reach

Since M2pdf uses Chrome's debugger, Chrome grants it broad access to read all websites.

What M2pdf actually touches is your Gmail tab and our own website for licence purchase. It does not read any other websites you visit and nothing from them is sent anywhere.

What Signing In With Google Gives Us

Your email address, and nothing else. It tells us which licence you hold. We do not request access to the Gmail API, so we have no way to reach your mail from our end.

Stored on Your Computer

• Your export settings: paper size, margins, file naming, folder structure
• Your licence status and remaining free conversions
• Layout rules for reading Gmail's print view
• A temporary working copy of the PDF while it is being built, deleted once the file is saved

Stored on Our Servers

• Your account email address
• Which plan you are on and when it expires
• A running count of conversions, for the free tier
• Your survey answers, if you sent them
